Where: Sheridan.

Warnings: This will be set up like the other open log. If there are any questions, feel free to ask.

Setting foot in the unfamiliar city, Tear cast a wary glance around in case they had been beaten there. There wasn't much time, and the last thing they needed was another confrontation.

"Where do you think we should start?" she asked, look back at the others.

It was still all so new for Luke, walking around Sheridan. Anise was still giving him the cold shoulder, and Tear... well, he couldn't ask Tear to forgive him any faster than she was ready to. Because he didn't deserve it. Meeting her gaze, Luke tried to give his best 'serious' face; "Well, shouldn't there be a big building where it looks like someone could build an airship?" It was a wild guess, yes, but a guess. He braced himself for the inevitable reprimand of his stupidity.

"I think looking for someone to ask for information may be a better idea," she replied, a bit curtly. It was too soon to assume that he would use his common sense, or perhaps he really didn't think that in a place like this, most of the people would know what was going on. "Keep alert for anyone. We should be able to get some assistance somewhere."

[identity profile] scionoflorelei.livejournal.com 2010-02-22 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I see." Luke recoiled a bit, but at least it wasn't a yell. Trying to do the right thing was a lot tougher than doing what he wanted to, it seemed. He really couldn't ask Tear to be any more patient than she already was, unfortunately, and he knew that very well. He had no idea why he so desperately wanted her approval... perhaps because Tear was the first one who seemed the most disappointed in him ever since they first wound up together at Tataroo Valley, or also because by 'betraying' a Grant, he had to go out of his way to impress and follow the other?

No... not only that, nobody else was even here for him to even begin to make up for what he had done. He had no idea where Natalia was, and Guy seemed to have completely turned his back on him. Not that he could blame anybody; what Luke did was despicable. He knew that. He couldn't undo it; even if nobody knew his moment of hesitation when Van asked him to do it, knowing something was odd about Master Van. Nobody would believe him... he felt even more alone right now than he did while trapped inside of the Fabre Manor.

In any case, he simply nodded, and followed Tear. He may as well start by trying; he went up to the locals and quite bluntly asked if they could direct him to the place where the engineers of the airship gathered.

After several minutes, he returned to Tear. "They said it's that house." he reiterated, pointing.

[identity profile] melonichymn.livejournal.com 2010-02-22 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Tear looked over where he was pointing. It seemed to be some sort of meeting hall. If that was where the engineers gathered, then it would be the best place to start. She nodded, starting towards the house.

That Luke had actually gone with someone else's suggestion rather than arguing his own was a pleasant surprise, and it was rather pleasing. He was obviously trying his best, even if he hadn't had the experience to build up common sense.

"Good work," she said, offering the encouragement that she had waited for with bated breath during her training.

[ooc: Rather than going through story-filler, wanted to time-skip to Meggiora Highlands or St. Binah or something for more character-based interaction? Up to you.]

Those words... felt good, actually. Luke wasn't entirely certain if he deserved them or not, but it felt good. Really good. He followed Tear into the building, more than willing to let her take the charge from here all things considered; his usual manner of 'asking' them for help would have most likely ended in... well, in a word, failure. Not that anybody was expecting this to be easy to begin with, really. But as long as he could see this through to the end, even if to help to atone for his sins in the past.

[identity profile] melonichymn.livejournal.com 2010-02-28 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[ooc: Skipping is fine with me, I'd say Meggiora highlands but it would mostly just be for CR so if you want to go straight to saving St. Binah that's fine with me.]

Taking a moment to speak with the people who seemed to be in charge, the situation looked bleak - but there was still a chance. Racing through the Meggiora Highlands to assist with recovering the hoverdrive would be a good way to ingratiate themselves to the engineers of Sheridan, who seemed to be willing to let them use their backup "Albiore" if they could recover the hoverdrive and rescue Shinji.

Although the decision was clear, she still turned to Luke to get his input. It was mainly to assess his development, as the answer to such a request was obvious.

A very sleepy Noishe walked around Sheridan, mumbling in his bestial tongue. Unfortunately, he does not seem to be paying attention and has already bumped into various people. The arshis, despite the obvious lack of sleep, seems to be looking for something. Not that his eyes half closed will help that.

[identity profile] melonichymn.livejournal.com 2010-02-16 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Tear had never seen anything like Noishe, and she was rather caught up with him. What was he? He was wandering around, looking sleepy... and very cute. She moved closer to see if she could get a better look.

[identity profile] whiiiiine.livejournal.com 2010-02-16 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
The sacred beast didn't notice the melodist through his near-closed eyes until he nearly bumped into a wall. He stopped, looking up at it, blinking, and yawned. Noishe was pleased that he caught himself...unlike last time. Last time he had tripped over a step and landed into a pool of water. That was not fun.

[identity profile] melonichymn.livejournal.com 2010-02-16 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh dear, that was close... but it was still so cute, and the yawn... she came a bit closer, trying not to startle him.

[identity profile] whiiiiine.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Finally, Noishe caught the smallest flicker of motion out of the corner of his eye. He tore his gaze from the wall to the seventh fonist. Curiosity filled his tired expression. The arshis tilted his head to the side slightly and made a noise that, in the end, sounded like a "bawr?"

Staring contest commence!

[identity profile] melonichymn.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
Tear stood still when she saw Noishe's eyes on her. He didn't seem to be nervous or anything... just tired. She held out a hand slowly, bending down a bit, a small smile crossing her face.

[identity profile] whiiiiine.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
Like some sort of dog, Noishe couldn't help but sniff her. She smelled nice enough. He didn't think she was hostile...but he would not lick her hand. That was demeaning. He was not a dog. The arshis barked a short statement to Tear, though it was of course, in his bestial tongue. Still, he lamented the loss of the Sorcerer's Ring.

[identity profile] melonichymn.livejournal.com 2010-02-22 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Satisfied with his attention, Tear withdrew her hand. He was barking at her, although it didn't sound like a normal dog bark. Of course, he didn't really look like a dog, so it made sense that he wouldn't. Was it possible to tame monsters? Or was he simply a mild-mannered monster, like a cheagle?

"You should probably go home and sleep," she said quietly. "You almost hit the wall. What are you doing out here?" Even though she knew he wouldn't respond intelligibly, like the cheagles he was probably expressive enough to get a basic emotion across.

[identity profile] whiiiiine.livejournal.com 2010-02-23 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Noishe turned thoughtful. Why not tell this woman? It's not as if she would understand him, anyway. "Well, a girl that was with us ran away, and then I lost the ring that allows me to talk to you humans, and now we're looking for the girl." He barked. The arshis sighed. Oh, if only he wasn't so stupid as to have lost the ring...

If the pack alpha were here, he would really chew Noishe out. Maybe literally! ...Okay, maybe not literally.

[identity profile] melonichymn.livejournal.com 2010-02-24 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
While she couldn't understand the arshis, it only took a moment to deduce that perhaps he was looking for something. But looking while tired was probably not the best idea... "Maybe you should rest for a bit before you keep looking around. You might miss something," she advised.

It was too bad that she didn't know what he was looking for. More than one person looking would make the process easier. Still, it didn't hurt to offer...

"Would you like some help?"

[identity profile] whiiiiine.livejournal.com 2010-02-25 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
((OoC: Sorry for "spammage," reeally needed to fix the post ><))

Yes, he did need sleep! Noishe really wished he could, though. Yet, if he didn't keep looking...well...Tenebrae would get angry and he didn't want an angry Tenebrae to deal with. Ugh, the very thought of that... It almost made the arshis shiver. He wished he could listen to this lady's advice.

Help? One of the beast's large ears perked at that. But how could she know who he was looking for? How could he get that across? Noise sat still in thought. Could he even trust the melodist? She was human...but so were Raine and Marta, and they were nice, if not a little scary. Instead of providing a proficient answer, he instead fixed Tear with a questioning gaze. How could she know? Was she really not busy?

[identity profile] melonichymn.livejournal.com 2010-02-28 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[ooc: no worries!]

She wasn't sure what the arshis was trying to say, but she was still resolute. "If you find something that looks similar to what you're looking for, then I can try to help as best that I can."

Late mun is late and terribly sorry TT

[identity profile] whiiiiine.livejournal.com 2010-03-12 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
...Well, how was he supposed to do that?! Noishe sighed. He could point out that is was a person at least, but how else...maybe if he saw Tenebrae and had him translate...

Not that the arshis trusted his brother to do that, of course. However, he had seemed...distraught, so the white-and-green beast thought the black creature would help if was nearby... Not that he was in sight, so he had to cross that idea out.

Well, all he could do was all he could do. He jerked his head towards Tear and other random young women, trying to signify that he was looking for a girl. Problem was, after that...how could he describe her? He would have to think on that...

[identity profile] whiiiiine.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
[See Noishe. See Noishe bored. See Noishe bored, sitting on the side of a street and unable to talk. Fun, innit?]

[identity profile] ruinsruinsruins.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[approaches Noishe]

Any luck finding Marta yet, Noishe?

[it had been a while since they've seen her, and nobody had the faintest clue as to where the little girl had gone]

Is your sense of smell strong?

[... and here comes her scientific curiosity... again]

[identity profile] whiiiiine.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[Noishe glances up at Raine and shakes his head to the first question.]

No, Tenebrae and I looked all over and...couldn't find her.

[He grimaces because he knows Raine couldn't understand him now. Why did he have to lose that Ring?]

Yes, why?

[Have another "bark."]

[identity profile] ruinsruinsruins.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[luckily, Raine can at least understand body language]

The Sorcerer's Ring must be a truly fascinating piece of fontech in order to translate speak... I simply must get my hands on it when we find it...

[oh, right, Noishe was right there]

Well, I know you're a sacred beast, not a dog. Dogs tend to have wondrous olfactory capabilities, correct? If you sniff out Marta's scent, it should narrow down the places we can look for her!

[identity profile] whiiiiine.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[Noishe doubted Raine would be able to find it any better than he had Nonetheless, he had a notion that if he allowed the fonist to get a hand on the item, he might not have it returned for a long, long time.]

[Noishe snorts.]
I have a better sense of smell than a dog! And I already tried, though I was half-asleep...

[identity profile] ruinsruinsruins.livejournal.com 2010-02-15 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm... I see.

You can go ahead and rest up, then, Noishe. I'm stopping by the market, though; is there anything you'd like to eat?

[identity profile] whiiiiine.livejournal.com 2010-02-15 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[Noishe barks his agreement--it was better than laying around bored, right?]

[The arshis shakes his head. So long as there was meat, he was happy. How did humans eat plants and stuff? Yeck.]
