Date: 2010-02-22 04:09 am (UTC)No... not only that, nobody else was even here for him to even begin to make up for what he had done. He had no idea where Natalia was, and Guy seemed to have completely turned his back on him. Not that he could blame anybody; what Luke did was despicable. He knew that. He couldn't undo it; even if nobody knew his moment of hesitation when Van asked him to do it, knowing something was odd about Master Van. Nobody would believe him... he felt even more alone right now than he did while trapped inside of the Fabre Manor.
In any case, he simply nodded, and followed Tear. He may as well start by trying; he went up to the locals and quite bluntly asked if they could direct him to the place where the engineers of the airship gathered.
After several minutes, he returned to Tear. "They said it's that house." he reiterated, pointing.

"Good work," she said, offering the encouragement that she had waited for with bated breath during her training.

Date: 2010-02-27 04:49 pm (UTC)Those words... felt good, actually. Luke wasn't entirely certain if he deserved them or not, but it felt good. Really good. He followed Tear into the building, more than willing to let her take the charge from here all things considered; his usual manner of 'asking' them for help would have most likely ended in... well, in a word, failure. Not that anybody was expecting this to be easy to begin with, really. But as long as he could see this through to the end, even if to help to atone for his sins in the past.

Racing through the Meggiora Highlands to assist with recovering the hoverdrive would be a good way to ingratiate themselves to the engineers of Sheridan, who seemed to be willing to let them use their backup "Albiore" if they could recover the hoverdrive and rescue Shinji.
Although the decision was clear, she still turned to Luke to get his input. It was mainly to assess his development, as the answer to such a request was obvious.
