Who: Anise, Balir, some random Oracle Knights
Where: Outside the Tartarus and then later to Shurrey Hill
When: During the Tartarus attack, after Anise falls out the window
Warnings: None really
A reasonable sized group of Oracle Knights was standing outside the window Anise had just fallen out of. This group was keeping the Tartarus itself surrounded in case the Fon Master attempted to escape. Once the boy had been secured, Balir and his men would serve as an escort to Shurrey Hill which was relatively close to their current location.
Balir himself was taking note of the Tartarus itself while he waited on those idiots aboard to obtain their target. It was a fine piece of fontech for this day and age, and he just couldn't help but make a quick sketch of it, for reference of course. He was very much looking forward to Shurrey Hill, that would be the most interesting part of this mission.
While he had been looking up to take note of the higher parts of the landship, he saw a figure suddenly come out of one of the windows. She appeared as if she may fall onto him, so he continued his sketch while he stepped to the side a bit so she could instead hit the ground. He could tell by the color of her uniform that it wasn't the Fon Master, but one of his guardians, so what happened to her was of no consequence to him.
He was rather surprised when she ended up landing on top of him and they both ended up on the ground. His Knights for a moment tried to contain themselves and then as if they could not help themselves, they burst out into laughter at their commander yet again being taken victim by his obsession with fon machines. They quickly recovered and had him surrounded in case the girl who landed on top of their commander tried to run away.
He frowned, he had thought he stepped enough away that this wouldn't happen. Was his vision getting worse with his advanced age? That would have to be checked out later. For now he had to deal with the fact that he had a small girl on top of him who appeared to be one of the enemy and even though she didn't weigh that much, it was quite the hindrance to have her on his chest like that, made it more than a bit difficult to breathe.
And he wasn't pleased by the fact that he knew her landing had ruined his sketch.
Using the arm that wasn't gripping his sword, he tried to push himself to a sitting position and force the girl off him. Then he could proceed with the business of taking her as a hostage for the time being, if there was any worth to her as a hostage. If there wasn't, she'd merely be another test subject for his weapon which should be ready to deal quite the shock to its victim considering how long he had waited and let it gather fonons. To his disappointment, it seemed her weight added too much for him to easily get up.
And obviously his men found this most amusing, so much so that they had lost their brains and didn't even think of the sensible solution of removing the enemy from their commander. They would definitely receive a harsh reprimand for that later. At least they had enough brains in their heads to make sure she didn't escape, that was amazing enough. It looked like he would have to deal with the issue in a calm and rational manner since his men were rather lacking as far as brains went.
"If it would please you, Fon Master Guardian, could you perhaps get up so my men can stop being amused and get about the business of capturing you?" He said to her as best as he could manage considering the situation.
Yes, there would be a harsh reprimand for his men later, just for how long he had to put up with this embarrassment.

Date: 2008-11-25 06:19 pm (UTC)He didn't fail to notice the girl and her dirty looks towards him, especially the rather uncouth tongue sticking out at him. It reminded him of his daughter, though she was a much younger age when she still did that. He wasn't bothered that this girl obviously disliked him, he didn't try to be liked. He had a mission to accomplish, and her escape would hinder it.
Now he had nothing to do but wait until the fon master arrived. He could torment this girl more, it was actually slightly amusing.
He got an idea of something to do. He flipped the small book to a new page. Continuing to look towards the Tartarus so she didn't suspect, he instead drew her from memory.
However, he added a few details, the tongue sticking out, a tail, some horns, and a set of devilish wings. Perfect for such a girl. He was quite impressed at how he had quickly portrayed such realism, though she did appear a bit flat. But then, he was no artist, he only meant to portray things for the sake of recreating them and understanding how they were built.
Now having finished that he was really starting to wonder just what happened to those three idiots he sent to go see what the delay was. They were supposed to have left for Shurrey Hill already. He was tempted to go check on things himself, but he had a feeling if he did that he would merely come back to find his men dead or unconscious and the girl gone.
So he'd merely have to wait patiently, which was hard. Finally after all this time in the Order he was going to get to see the passage rings up close, such fonts of beautiful Dawn Age technology were worth the wait.
