[CHAPTER 03 - SCENE] Brave Symphonia, Charge!
Who: Raine Sage, Noishe, Marta Lualdi, Tenebrae
Where: Chesedonia
When: After Zao Ruins, probably during the entire Daath escapade everyone else is going through.
Warnings: None.
Well, leaving the Zao Ruins with a sacred beast in tow wasn't part of Raine's plan, but it was her policy to never look a gift arshis in the mouth! Since her business in the Zao Ruins was complete, she thought it best for her and Noishe to head back past the Oasis and to Chesedonia, where they could decide where to go next. Keeping the arshis with her out in the open posing it as a pet would be better than abandoning him in the wilderness while she was able to sleep in a bed, really, as long as he didn't talk. Entering the shop, she looked at Noishe and asked him if there was anything in particular he wanted to eat.

The arshis glanced about with a sigh. The beast wished he was allowed to talk, but Raine was right. Noishe knew it would only bring trouble, and no normal "pet" would speak the fonic language. Of course, he could mumble to himself in his own tongue, but then he'd just look like he was going crazy. Sometimes he wondered, though. Traveling with a human? He never would have pictured that in a hundred years. Yet, here he was, traveling with a rather peculiar one. She was kind to him, admittedly...
The duo were stopping to rest to decide what was next, and so his thoughts lingered on such a topic. What next... Well, he was curious as to how his brother-replica was doing. He hadn't seen Tenebrae in the longest time, and was worried. How was he getting along in the world? That is...if he till lived. He wouldn't have died in Home's destruction. His favorite replica had left long before that. Still, he wondered and worried.

So, finally, she resorted to asking her traveling companion.
"Hey, Tenebrae ..." She said, turning toward the doglike creature near her.
"How does this hat look on me~?"
Tenebrae looked at her from his sitting position at her side. He narrowed his eyes. Sometimes, he could swear that she did this because she knew that him talking would put him in potential trouble.
But if she was going to be annoying in his time of silence, he was just going to be a pain right back at her. And with that, he leapt up, grabbed the hat between his teeth, and placed it on the table, shaking his head at the girl he'd been following for a few months now.
Marta pouted.
"A simple yes or no would have sufficed," she pouted, turning back toward the table and looking at the other accessories.
Tenebrae sighed. Must he be subjected to such torture? It isn't as if she has the gald to buy any of these things. She's saving her gald for emergencies, and for inn stays. She knows how unwise it is to spend on such frivolous items as these. Why even bother?
"Hey, Tenebrae!"
Tenebrae inwardly groaned.

"I'm glad! Where have you been? What happened?" The arshis threw a barrage of questions at the other beast. His tail wagged with impatience.

"Noishe? Aha, I should have known you wouldn't go down so easily .." He chuckled. He wouldn't have been Tenebrae if he didn't have his usual snark.
"It's good to know you're alive, though. I heard about what happened to our homeland. I feared the worst for you, brother. I have been traveling around this world, learning as much as I possibly can about anything and everything."
He motioned to Marta.
"I joined her recently. Lady Marta ... I am uncertain if she knows she is an isofon of the fifth fonon yet or not."
Marta stared at the two conversing canines.
"... Okay, I think I'm a little lost." So, since she was so lost, she looked up toward Raine and waved a little.
"Uh, Hello?"

"Of course I wouldn't die from that!" The original responded. His ears drooped slightly. "I barely escaped, though. I still am not sure of what happened exactly...I want to find whoever is responsible." The arshis' eyes, if possible, darkened as he spat, "Whoever did it will pay! Dearly!" Paused after his outburst, the beast shook his head.
"Sorry. Isofon? What do you mean? All I remember is from years ago when those humans complained about us being failures' and not 'isofons,' though I don't quite understand what that is supposed to mean. I'm guessing you do?"
no subject
"Marta. Marta Lualdi. It's nice to meet you, Professor Sage," She stepped back, clasping her hands together behind her back as she looked over to Noishe and Tenebrae as well.
"And Noishe, too. My own companion's name is Tenebrae."
Tenebrae chuckled.
"If I explained it to you, brother, it would only confuse you more. So I'll spare you the further confusion and merely say that it's special." Oh, Tenebrae.

"He's my brother." The arshis said simply, quietly. No need for them to know right now that Tenebrae was actually his replica. That would only garner the dark-pelted beast more attention than he needed, especially from Raine.

"I suppose there is no use in hiding it, so long as we can speak quietly in the presence of other humans." Tenebrae looked up at Raine.
"It is true. Noishe is my brother." He understood what his original had been trying to do, and thought it was a good idea to play along.
Marta eyed Tenebrae with a sly smirk.
"Tenebrae, you never told me you had any family."
"You never asked, Lady Marta," was Tenebrae's simple response. Marta facepalmed.
"Ergh. Raine, if the dogs are going to talk, maybe we should go somewhere a little less populated."
"Arshis," Tenebrae corrected.
"You both look like dogs," Marta responded.
"Sometimes I could swear you didn't have any respect for others, Lady Marta."
Marta grinned sheepishly at Raine. This was normal. She was surprised Tenebrae was actually managing to keep quiet enough as not to be detected, though; if anyone saw her talking to him, they probably automatically assumed she was speaking with Raine.

"And, "Lady" Marta..." Noishe adopted a tone and smirk like Tenebrae's. "We are most certinly nothing like dogs. Not that others outside of our party need to know that..."
no subject
"Tenebrae, your brother is just as mocking as you are."
Tenebrae chuckled. "Good job, Brother." Marta shot a glare at the dark-furred Arshis, who then went on to address Raine.
"It is in the exact same place as Noishe's. It just happens to blend in much better with my fur."

"Didn't you say that other humans would turn me into a rug," The arshis scowled. "or a pet?" His distasteful expression increased its intensity. It quickly faded at the next suggestion, as his eyes lit up. "That would be...nice. A certain someone needs to explain some stuff to me." The original shot his brother a glance, sharp yet still showing affection.

Of course, Marta had let out somewhat of a high-pitched squeal at this news.
"A real bed?!" She asked, eyes shining. "I can sleep in a real bed?! I'd like that very much!"
Tenebrae sighed. Why he even bothered asking, he didn't know. He thwapped her gently with his tail, trying to remind her of those manners she had. Somewhere.
Marta blinked at Tenebrae, then laughed sheepishly.
"I-I'm sorry, Raine. It's just been a while since i've been able to sleep in a real bed, and I wasn't sure we'd have enough money to rent a room at the inn after restocking on gels and upgrading my spinner ..."
"She didn't ask for an explanation, Lady Marta. And I do believe she was referring to giving my brother and I the luxury."
Marta puffed out her cheeks. "I know, I know. Sheesh, Tenebrae! Lighten up a bit!"
"That would be quite difficult, my Lady. I am dark-furred."
"You know what I mean!" Marta pouted.

"In any case, let us be off toward the inn." Raine motioned, beginning to walk.
[ooc: I suppose this is a good time to jump to the other log?]
