[Chapter 2 - Scene] Best Buds

Who: Luke and Guy
Where/When: Baticul (before the audience with Ingobert)
Warnings: None that I can think of.



To say that Guy had been surprised would have been an understatement. He was still slightly shaken up by seeing his cousin (on his mother's side) greet them when they'd gotten off the ferry. He'd seen her before, of course, considering she was under Duke Fabre's command, but as a servant, he'd never been introduced to her, or even heard her name. However, he could see that there was someone else in their party who was even more uncomfortable with returning to Baticul than he was.

Natalia would serve as well as Luke could in getting Jade and Ion the audience with King Ingobert, so as soon as the group got off of the lift from the docks, Guy reached out and put his hand on Luke's shoulder. "Luke, wait up a sec." He waved at the others, that they'd catch up.

"I talked with Natalia. I know you two don't get along, but she promised me you'll be all right. So it's not anything you have to worry about." Luke sighed. Usually it was the other way around, with Guy reassuring him. Perhaps it was a sign of maturity, or perhaps it was a sign of insanity; one wouldn't be able to tell at this point, except that the situation was the least bit unusual if they knew the pair.

Luke still didn't know how exactly to share with Guy about what he experienced before they met up again, but now certainly wasn't the time or environment to do so. Perhaps once they got back to the manor, he'd feel more comfortable. It was something he wanted to do, though he wasn't sure how to go about it.
