Who: Noishe, Tenebrae
Where: A cell, Random Research Facility 1, Hod
When: Before the fall of Hod, after Tenebrae was born
Warnings: N/A
Slamming his fore left paw against the metal bars one last time, Noishe turned away, disheartened. Why was he such an idiot? He just had to go burn the hat of that one human...what, were they, a Soarer? Scorner? Whatever. Anyway, it was that simple, but incredibly fun act that had led to his capture. The sared beast glanced sidelong at the dark-colored creature that shared his cell. The fur on the back of his neck rose the slightest degree. This arshis was...him, but it wasn't! Only Noishe was Noishe, right? It was so...scary. Freaky. It made Noishe's head hurt. Yet...the creature, despite the sensations that the beast felt against it, had done nothing to him. He couldn't feel bad about it. Maybe, even, it could be a friend!
Noishe made a very wolfish grin. There was a ring around the other beast's ankle, too. The pack alpha would be mad, but...he always was when Noishe stole the Ring. Yet, he couldn't help himself. It was too much fun! Seriously, WAY too much fun. Addictingly fun. But... the arshis' happiness faded. Both of them were trapped inside this human contraption. How could they get out...? Maybe his friend would have an idea.
"Hey, you. I think we should get out of here. Any ideas?"

Date: 2009-10-18 11:44 pm (UTC)Get out?
... Well, that seemed like a great idea. Splendid, wonderful. But how could he, who had only been born perhaps an hour before, possibly be able to think of a way out? He was still growing accustomed to this world, for Lorelei's sake.
"It's fascinating, really. I've only been alive for an hour at most, and yet I am expected to come up with some brilliant idea for breaking out of the only place I've ever known. Of course, friend. Of course I can do that."
... perhsps the Sorcerer's ring gave him more than just an understanding of words. He wasn't about to argue with it, however. It was probably some effect of his original being replicated with the ring on. Or perhaps, it might have been that accident during the replication process.
either way, he was able to speak, and understand words.

Date: 2009-10-18 11:50 pm (UTC)"Okay, fine. Whatever." The original muttered. "I just thought that maybe you'd at least hold some intelligence, but I guess not." The arshis, unable to merely sit still, began pacing. "Well, I know that the people should be leaving soon. They always leave around this time of day..." Noishe had, after all, been there for half a week.

Date: 2009-10-19 01:12 am (UTC)"I do not know the workings of this place. However, you say they always leave around this time, do they? In that case, we need to first figure out a way out of this contraption," He nodded, referring to the cage they were currently trapped inside of.
"Next, we would need an escape route."

Date: 2009-10-19 01:22 am (UTC)"Those humans apparently didn't deem me fit to call me anything but 'the replica.' Whatever that is supposed to mean."

Date: 2009-10-19 01:42 am (UTC)As his gaze wandered to the accessory, an idea struck him. The alpha had told him about the Ring, and how there was one very strong verse inscribed in it of the first fonon. Apparently, it was written in an ancient language about shadow and darkness or some such stuff.
A young Noishe shifted a little uncomfortably. "Then, what does the verse say, exactly?" The alpha fixed him with a smile, glad that the young beast was curious.
"It says, 'Tenebrae redimio is lux lucis pre,' or, translated into our tongue it roughly means, 'Shadows surround this light ahead.' It is a fonic arte in this Ring, that if the holder can understand how to work it, he or she could use the first fonon." Noishe continued to stare with wide, interested, and excited eyes.
The original brought his gaze up to his replica counterpart. "The band we both have across our ankle... It has a verse that mentions shadows. Since you need a name, don't look exactly like me and you look shadowy...how about the word used for that--Tenebrae?"
no subject
Date: 2009-10-19 01:47 am (UTC)Tenebrae.
In the hour or so that he had been alive, he had never been given a true name. And now, the one he was copied from has given him one. Who was he to decline? Despite being utterly snarky and sarcastic, Tenebrae did have a side of compassion, gratuity, and ... well, he was touched, really.
He lifted his head, and acknowledged the name - and his original - with a nod.
"Tenebrae ... it is fitting. I thank you, friend, for giving me such a name. Or a name in general, on that note." He bowed his head politely.
"So, from here on forth, I will be known as Tenebrae, correct?"
no subject
Date: 2009-10-19 02:01 am (UTC)"Well, Tenebrae, we are going to get out of here somehow, but...what will you do after that?" Another strange wave of compassion had come over him. He was worried about this--his-- replica. Tenebrae didn't know much--anything--about the world, little about who and what he was or...anything. He was like a pup that could only now talk. Except Tenebrae wasn't a pup. Not exactly. But until he knew things, he'd need someone to look out for him...right?
Noishe never had any siblings. His one brother had been killed somehow, he had been told. Thus, he never knew what it was like. but this replica...it was like a brother, wasn't it?

Date: 2009-10-19 02:04 am (UTC)"Afterward, I suppose I will stay with you. I have no knowledge of the outside world. It would be wise to learn. In order to do that, however, we must find our way out, correct?"
no subject
Date: 2009-10-19 02:12 am (UTC)Nodding, Noishe turned his soft gaze to the bars. "Yes, we do. I wonder..." He closed his eyes, concentrated on the Ring, and through that, sought to gather fonons. The strongest verse had the first fonon, but another of the verses was that of the fifth fonon. The fire fonons collected and Noishe sent them forth at the bars. However, nothing happened. The arshis sighed in disappointment.
"I wish I could break out with something so simple as that..."

Date: 2009-10-19 09:44 pm (UTC)Luckily, within a few tries, Tenebrae was able to perform it himself; the accident which happened during the replication probably helped. He HAD, aftor all, had the first fonon absorbed into him.

Date: 2009-10-19 10:56 pm (UTC)"I must say, we did a number on it," He looked back at his original and smirked.
"It's quite toasty here. I daresay you should try warming yourself." Yes, Tenebrae. Be a jerk.

no subject
Date: 2009-10-20 12:55 am (UTC)...Or was it just a replica-original thing? Maybe it was just Tenebrae. Noishe had thought that he was weird, but this replica...
To say Tenebrae's weirdness would go off the charts--were there such a chart-would be an understatement.

Date: 2009-10-20 01:09 am (UTC)"Gladly," He replied, smirking as he rested his head upon his front paws. "Would you like for me to serve you your dinner while I'm at it?"
Let the banter continue.
no subject
Date: 2009-10-20 01:14 am (UTC)"In fact, yes. That might be very nice. Get to it." The arshis' response was cynical, bitter. As fun as banter was, he did get tired of it sometimes. Somehow, he had the feeling that the pack alpha would not be happy with the new addition to the pack.

Date: 2009-10-20 01:38 am (UTC)"Well, then. Let's head left. I thought I saw another door in the lab where you were born. Just...be careful, please? If you get us into trouble...well. I don't want us to get into trouble. Let's get out of here." Without another word, he began padding away down the corridor, continuously scanning the entire hall for anything out of place.

Date: 2009-10-20 02:07 am (UTC)"By the way, I don't believe I've ever gotten your name. You gave me mine. Is it too much to request to know yours?"

Date: 2009-10-20 02:35 am (UTC)...Okay, the second. Fine, the third.
...Ugh, okay. So he had been caught many times before. He just had always gotten away before they could actually capture him or do anything. Except this time, of course. But...he was still really, really stealthy!

Date: 2009-10-20 02:40 am (UTC)"Lead the way, brother."

Date: 2009-10-20 02:46 am (UTC)"I'm pretty sure that everyone should be gone..." The original whispered. " But be careful. I don't know for sure." Without further ado, he pushed the door open with his injured paw, eliciting a soft whine from his throat. Grumbling at himself in his mind, he ignored the throbbing and continued inside the large room. "Don't touch anything."
no subject
Date: 2009-10-20 02:57 am (UTC)He chuckled.
"Do we have a plan for if we should happen to run into anybody?"

Date: 2009-10-20 03:08 am (UTC)"I guess we can use the Sorcerer's Ring again..."
no subject
Date: 2009-10-20 03:50 am (UTC)He thought on that.
"I suppose it's all we've got to go on for now. Carry on, then."
no subject
Date: 2009-10-20 08:26 pm (UTC)The night air greeted his muzzle as the beast stuck his head out of the door. Unfortunately...a jarring alarm started, and the original flinched. "Hurry, Tenebrae!" The arshis snapped and hurried into town. 'Please don't let them catch us...' Came the worried thought.
