[Chapter 2 - Scene] Just a few questions, truly...
Who: Jade Curtiss, Tear Grants
Where: On the ferry
When: Um, can be either instance really, doesn't bother me either way, no matter what, would be after Choral Castle
Warnings: Jade and Tear really would make a good couple in the opinion of at least Jade's mun :)
Truly, Jade would normally consider this mission to be a complete disaster, but at least the overall goal is close to being attained. He only lost the Tartarus and over a hundred men in the process. At least Ion and the letter were safe for now and he had secured a way to ensure an audience with King Ingobert.
And in the process made some rather interesting findings. There were definitely many things that would keep his mind busy as he considered how it all went together. And truly, he hadn't had much of a chance to spend time with Van's little sister. She seemed to be of interest also, and why she was trying to kill her brother was especially something he was curious about. He knew very well just how risky of a move that was.
The most fascinating part was the fact that the man himself had appeared to forgive her and not even punish her in the least bit. Unless that was what they had discussed when they had been separated from the rest of them.
He decided it would be a good idea to seek out the company of the melodist. Perhaps a few subtle questions would help him gain a few more pieces to put together. And if not, at least he could enjoy the company of another who he did enjoy speaking with. It was indeed rare to find such an intelligent and talented female, such things should be treasured for as long as they can be had.
He only hoped he could actually find her alone. Luke did have a tendency of trying to grab all the attention for himself and Tear seemed more hesitant to talk then. As it was, he doubted he would get much from her, she was as secretive as a certain blonde swordsman was also.

It was rather unfortunate that Van was there now, she thought. In other circumstances it could almost be ideal, but there were too many other people to get involved. No, this was between the two of them. It could wait until both the Fon Master and Luke were safely escorted. Until then, it was better to keep away from him, in order to prevent any further confrontations.
For the time being, at least, there was little more to do than to experience the water and the waves. Still, she kept ready. There was no telling what one could encounter while at sea, after all.

The important thing was that she was alone.
"My, I'm most surprised that you were able to find a way to get rid of Luke for the time being. I do very much hope he didn't fall overboard to accomplish this feat, that would be so hard to explain."

He walked up beside her. "Would you mind if I joined you? Perhaps we can discuss our findings at Choral Castle?"

Choral Castle... ah, well. Time to talk work, it seemed. While dealing with Luke was not a true mission, his return was starting to take on the makings of one. The experience in Choral Castle, so long as conversation stuck with the red-head, was rather curious - although thinking about her own experience there made her heart speed up. What he had said... but, now was not the time. That was nobody else's issue, and would remain that way. She nodded, pushing herself up to stand up straight in the appropriate fashion to speak with someone of rank. "Certainly, Colonel. Comparing notes may reveal information that neither of us had realized previously."
I need to stop being so forgetful with tags, sorry!
But enough of the dry humor for now, as much as he wouldn't mind it if a certain annoying redhead did fall off the side, that couldn't happen, yet at least.
"Well, as far as Choral Castle, I'm most curious as to what if anything you and Van found while you were away from us. As it was the place was a bit odd for an abandoned vacation home."
And then he looked towards her with that sarcastic smile of his that really made it so hard to tell what he was thinking. "Of course, if there was anything interesting discussed that could explain things further, that would be good to know too."

"There had been a trap that had been triggered, which blocked our route. We had to find an alternate route, which took some time as neither of us were familiar with the way. We were both concerned about catching up, although..." a strategic pause as she sifted through what had been said to find something useful. "Van seemed to be rather upset at the abandoning of orders of the God Generals involved." It was a lame statement, but the most useful one that didn't involve the world's biggest secret.

She was hiding some detail. But what the detail was, he did not know. The problem was, those who were hiding things did so for a good reason, and would fight tooth and nail to keep their secrets. He couldn't repeat what he did to Guy, he didn't even like having to resort to such a drastic measure as it was with the servant.
"I would hope he would be upset that his men didn't follow orders. If he wasn't, there would be a rather great problem for the Order, now wouldn't you agree?" Which was very true, if Van didn't care if his men followed orders, he wasn't fit to lead the Oracle Knights, he had to be upset, it would be expected that he would be. It would be expected that he would punish each God-General who had been involved. If he didn't, he'd risk being punished himself, quite possibly stripped of his own rank.
"But truly, I didn't want to waste your time going over what we both already know. So maybe I should give a hint of what I'm trying to come to a conclusion on. We found some rather strange devices in the basement where Luke was found. Did you and Van see anything that wouldn't seem to fit in an abandoned vacation home perhaps? Or did he maybe say something that would lead you to believe he had been there before this time?"

Van had been here before? Well, it could be possible. During her training, he had been quite far removed from her, and increasingly so as time had gone on. Thinking back over his words did not reveal any sort of confirmation of familiarity with the place, so she responded crisply "He didn't give any indication of being here before..." although, a thought crossed her mind. Perhaps it was simply luck, or had he known where he was going while they were making their way through the building to catch up? Perhaps she was looking into things too deeply, based on the question at hand.
