[Chapter 2- Scene] - Just what else could go wrong?

Who: Balir Gardios, Lloyd Irving
Where: Just outside Akzeriuth
When: after Choral Castle, before Deo Pass
Warnings: Cranky God-Generals are not a good thing at all

Finally after Yulia only knew how many days, because Balir sure didn't know how long it had been, 7th Division and it's commander arrived in Akzeriuth.

Of course, the trip was far from uneventful. There were numerous repairs that had to be made so they could even travel the distance, like the large hole the Necromancer had made on the ship. Then there was the fact that someone messed things up in getting the landship to even run again after it was shut down. That required quite a bit of work to fix.

Between all that and his wish to study the landship before they got rid of it, the commander sure didn't get anywhere near the amount of rest he had been advised to get. It was no wonder he was still definitely far from one hundred percent.

He had debated on just making sure the ship would make it to Akzeriuth, but since Van hadn't specified a reason and there was the possibility of someone else picking it up, be it Malkuth gaining it back or another group of Oracle Knights, it had to be in decent running order, and well there was also the disposal of a few hundred dead bodies, but that detail had been left to the idiots who let themselves be attacked by the docile Fon Master.

Now all that remained was finding a site to leave the landship, which wasn't a difficult task, the area around the city was vast wilderness pretty much. He wanted to avoid the city itself due to the rumors of the area having a problem with miasma, and he wanted it to not be easily discovered by any random passersby, so near Deo Pass was out. Unfortunately there wasn't really any good terrain that would allow for it to be concealed, like a forest. So he'd just have to make do with a good location.

Once he picked out an ideal location that he hoped would likely not attract too much notice before whatever fate this landship had in store for it happened. He stopped the ship and gave orders for everyone to disembark and prepare for their departure to Kaitzur Naval Port via Deo Pass.

That was the part he wasn't looking forward to. It was going to be a very long walk and it was always slower to move a large group of soldiers than it was for him to go on his own. As it was, it would most likely be about an hour before they could even leave.

If it wasn't for the fact that something would go wrong if he wasn't there and delay them even more, he'd go off somewhere and get a short nap until they were ready. He definitely could use it, but he knew something would go wrong, or someone would discover him and he'd be setting a poor example. Instead he decided to check the area further to ensure the location would work while they made the necessary arrangements.

It wasn't as if he could really help with hauling things off the ship to make it go faster and doing something at least helped him feel more awake. He'd just have to be careful in case he ran into anything, monster or human. Just in case however, he made sure his sword was ready. He might be pathetic fighting left handed, but the fonons would give an advantage at least if he ran into some monsters.
