Who: Gauche, Droite, Asch
Where: Daath Market
When: ND 2017
Warnings: Nadda.

Asch readjusted the collar of the uniform he was wearing, before striding purposefully out of the Cathedral. It was a low-levelled Knight's uniform, which Meredy had helped him procure. As long as he wasn't allowed out of the Cathedral, he figured he'd have to go undercover. Meredy had also found some stuff for his hair, that would wash right out, and so he looked like an ordinary soldier, albeit one with a long black braid. His bangs were unusually down, completing the look. Since no one in Daath knew him, there was little chance he'd be recognized. And by moving purposefully, there was little chance that he'd be stopped.

He reached the main street of town, and looked around for somewhere interesting to go, which would keep him from being ordered to do something.

“Yes!”

“No Droite, we can’t buy that.”

“But Yeager gave us 5000 gald to spend!”

“Yeah, for supplies!”

Droite frowned deeply as she clutched the brown paper bag that contained the items they needed so that they could leave on their journey as soon as possible. Gauche noticed the frown, and a pang of guilt washed over her. She withdrew her wallet and counted what was left. 2000 gald.

“How much is it?”

Droite perked up, and gleefully smiled her thanks to Gauche. She set the bag down beside the jewelers stand and checked the price tag of the pair of black hooped earrings.

“300 gald!”

Gauche handed the jeweler what she owed him and took the earrings. She handed them to Droite and smiled as she tried them on. Yeager wouldn’t mind the purchase as long as Droite was happy.

Asch glanced over when he heard two girls, and sighed. He remembered going shopping with Natalia as a child, and her excitement over seeing some pretty trinket. How lucky those girls must be, to have no cares in the world (as far as he could see) further than what pretty bobble to buy.

Satisfied with her new earrings, Droite picked their bag of supplies up began quickly making her way through the crowd. She was excited to show Yeager what she just found! She turned and realized that Gauche hadn’t moved from where she was standing. She was putting the gald back into her wallet, it seemed. Droite stood in the middle of the crowd and waited patiently for Gauche to finish. Yeah right, Droite…patient…

“Gauche, hurry up!”

A few more seconds.

“Alright slow poke! Meet me at home, alright?”

Droite spun around on her heels and walked all of two steps before roughly bumping into a man wearing a knight’s outfit. She lost her balance and fell on her behind, but not before dropping their bag of supplies first.

Asch wasn't expecting to get run into. He started to growl, then stopped himself. He sighed, and reached out a hand to help the girl back up. Really, were all girls so idiotic that they couldn't even watch where they were going?

Gauche turned around after receiving her change back just in time to see Droite fall over. She tucked the gald into her wallet and quickly made her way over to her sister and the knight she rudely bumped into.

Droite quickly stood on her own despite the outreached hand of the man she had just bumped into and brushed herself off. She ‘hmmphed’ and bent down to assess the damage done to the supplies.

Gauche quickly rejoined her sister and, being the responsible one, decided to apologize.

“I’m sorry for that, sir.”

Asch shook his head. "You should be more careful. There are some soldiers around here who are quick to draw weapons." He didn't include that he was among them, but his sword was back in his room at the moment.

Gauche lightly kicked her sister.

“Did you hear that Droite? You need to be more careful or next time we might actually get in trouble!”

Said twin irritably stood up and pointed at the bag that was now up right and neatly re-packed.

“I don’t care about that right now! Three out of the six life bottles we just bought are broken!”

Gauche quickly grabbed Droite’s arm and glared.

“Droite, apologize!”

Life bottles? Why would two girls in Daath need life bottles? Maybe there was something more to them after all.

"I'm sorry, sir." Droite replied, still returning her sister's glare.

"What do the two of you need life bottles for?" he asked casually, glancing about slightly.

"We're leaving soon!" Droite exclaimed, all previous anger forgotten, "We need to find this jerk and teach him a lesson!"

Gauche sighed. There really was no use in re-wording that now.

Asch raised an eyebrow. "The world isn't as pretty as you might think it would be," he cautioned.

"Thank you for your concern, sir, but we are trained swordsman," Gauche replied, hinting towards the sheath at her side.

"Yeah! We kick ass!" Droite added, posing triumphantly.

Asch doubted that. "What will you do when you find this person?"

"Kick his ass?" Droite replied, turning to her sister for confirmation. Gauche just shrugged and nodded.

Asch chuckled. It sounded like something he would do himself, at times. "How will you find him?"

"We have a few inside sources," Gauche explained to the knight, "Hopefully what they've told us is reliable."

"Of course it is! Why would those cute little --" Droite started but didn't finish when she saw her sister glare in her direction.

Asch was intrigued by this. "And how will you get money for supplies on this trip, when you don't know how long it may take?"

"Our rich Uncle Yeager is funding us!" Droite exclaimed.

Asch had heard of Yeager, but didn't know anything about the man. "And after you find this man? Or run out of leads? What will you do then?"

Gauche eye'd this knight suspiciously, he sure did ask alot of questions. "We'll go back to Yeager and live happily knowing that our revenge is complete."

Asch noted her suspicion, and was inwardly pleased by it. "I have a proposition for the two of you, actually," he stated plainly.

"Oh yeah! And what would that be Mr. Knight?" Droite exclaimed loudly.

"My post does not allow me to leave Daath often, however, I am in need of information outside of this city. If you were willing, I would, on occasion, send word for you, on information I require. In exchange, of course, I would provide whatever information I can gain within the city as well. And I'd pay you, of course."

Gauche smiled. Well, that sounded fair. Any extra gald and information they could get would be very beneficial.

The twins looked at each other, smiled and nodded.

"You have yourself a deal, Sir," Gauche replied, placing her hand out to shake on the agreement.

Asch extended his own hand and grasp hers.

"What's your name, by the way?" Gauche added as she shook his hand, "Or would you prefer we call you Mr. Knight?"

Asch glanced around to make sure there was no one who would overhear. "I am Asch," he replied simply.

"I'm Gauche," she pointed to her twin, "and this is Droite."

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance," Droite winked, "Partner!"

"I will contact you if and when I have need of information," he told them.
