[Chapter 02 - SCENE] Searching Mt. Zaleho...
Who: Philia Felice, Zelos Wilder, Meredy Gardios, Jay the Unseen, Legretta the Quick
Where: Daath's Library; will move to Mt. Zaleho.
When: Will find the date later.
Warnings: Jay wears make up.
Philia had already sent a letter to Meredy telling her that she and Sir Wilder would come back to Daath, and if she knew anything about Mt. Zaleho. The trip from Grand Chokmah was a little awkward for Philia, considering the whole thing with Sir Wilder and Rutee; she was quiet for the msot park, and reclused to her own little corner of the boat and locked her room. However, when they arrived at Daath Bay, she was cordial and smiling as always, though any closeness from before was undone.
"We're meeting my friend here." She turned around, stating it in a matter-of-factly tone to Zelos. "I'm certain that she will be able to help us." She continued. The quicker this quest was over with, the sooner Philia could sever all ties with Zelos, and no longer would she hesitate in the matters of her heart.

Zelos decided to just play a game to pass the time. He crossed his arms and began an analysis of the room they were standing in. He looked at all the females in the room or the ones that walked through the door and began to guess which one was Philia’s friend.
Not that one. Next.
No, that one wasn’t cute enough. Next.
He hoped it wasn’t that one. Ugh.
He began getting bored of his game, until a girl, a little shorter than Philia, caught his attention. She had long purple hair that was tied back into two pigtails. A rather different looking girl, at least in comparison to all the other ones he had seen. He placed his entire imaginary bet on this girl. This was the one. No doubt about it.

Ion was gone, Anise was gone, and she was stuck here because she couldn't seem to get clearance for any excuse to go look for them. Philia had been gone for a while, too; it was lonely just being in Daath by herself without anything that needed doing.
She passed by an open door, and stopped, leaning in curiously--was that Philia's voice she'd just heard?
no subject
Seeing Phillia and Zelos enter, she closed the book she had been reading over on the Padmiya continent which had been unhelpful overall. Truly, she hadn't been able to find much, there wasn't a known way in to Mt. Zaleho, at least not one she could access, unless her guess was right.
For now though, she'd go ahead and greet her friend and see who the man was that she was with. He looked handsome enough and she wondered if maybe Phillia finally found herself a man.
She stood up which caused Quickie, who had been sleeping at her feet under the table, to stir. The little creature went running towards the exit and stopped when it saw Phillia and nuzzled her leg in a friendly manner. Meredy reached her friend after Quickie did and smiled in greeting. "Meredy glad Phillia back safe, but who is Phillia's friend?"
no subject
Philia turned to her side and noticed Colette passing by the door. "Oh, Miss Colette!" Philia rarely raised her voice, but she was glad to see another friend... especially considering the comany Zelos made. "Have you heard any news on the Fon Master yet?"
no subject
Colette bowed herself into the room, and stood hesitantly just inside the door. She knew she should apologize for eavesdropping, and it was hard for her not to wring her hands, but Philia had asked about Master Ion, and Master Ion was what was most important right now.
"N...no. Not Anise, either... I'm really worried about them..."
Glancing up, she noticed that Meredy and a red-haired stranger were here with her friend. She gave Meredy an automatic, if slightly pained, smile; to the stranger, she offered a smaller curtsy.
no subject
Of course, she didn't want to admit that she was actually more worried about those searching for the Fon Master. Logic told her that Ion was safe, it was doubtful anyone would want to risk upsetting the Order of Lorelei by harming him, but they could very well put up a resistance against those sent to bring him back.
But Phillia had not come to chat about the Fon Master, she had something to do for the redhead with her, and Meredy was glad to help with that. "So Phillia and Zelos need to find way to Mt. Zaleho?"
no subject
She didn't know who was there at the moment, but she recognized one voice, it was Colette of course, one of the Fon Master Guardians. It seemed she was left behind when the Fon Master and his guardian were gone. The woman couldn't help but assume that the brown haired guardian with the Fon Master was in some alliance with the Necromancer. Even if his trip was so-called recognized by the Order, the woman slowly doubt that as well as she needed to figure another plan to get the Fon Master in their hands. The God-Generals have no means on creating peace with Malkuth or Kimlasca. They were under direct orders from Van.
Van had not said anything either for some time. The woman was waiting for his words to come for their next plan. The woman dismissed these thoughts as she approached the library at an even face, her grim expression still present on her face. Legretta was silent, so she doubted any of them would know that she was approaching, much less checking out what they were talking about. After all, there was a large crowd. There was a young girl, perhaps younger than the rest, she assumed she had seen the girl before.

Zelos stayed quiet and let Philia and her friends catch up with each other until he quickly interjected at the mention of Mt. Zaleho. His gaze met that of Meredy’s and he quietly cleared his throat. “Yeah adorable, unfortunately we do,” he regretfully informed and laughed nervously.

Colette looked curiously from the stranger to Philia.
"Does this have to do with... that assignment you were on, Philia?"
It... wasn't right, but--if there was an opportunity here, Colette would try to take it. If there was a way to legitimately get herself out of Daath...
no subject
Turning to Colette once more, Philia smiled. "It's certain to be dangerous, and there's a chance we might run into the Fon Master during our travels. Would you like to join us, Miss Colette?"
no subject
It wasn't really a lie. Even if she didn't find Master Ion, she'd at least feel better for having gotten outside and helped Philia on her assignment.

The stealthy woman remained standing there in the blind spot, so that the group was unable to see her. If their conversation struck up unpleasant to her, she would surely strike them. She recovered enough to use her guns. Even if her wrists were slightly sprained from the blond haired male's attack prior to her return to Daath.
no subject
“Of course you may join us, my cute little angel!” He flashed a tooth sparkling smile, “I truly am blessed by Yulia herself, to have all of these beautiful girls wanting to help me. I find it soooo…” Sensual? Unbelievable? Touching? “…beautiful.” He wiped away a fake tear to emphasize his point.
Now, onto business.
“Soo, how are we going about getting into this flaming pit of despair today?” he asked all three girls, dropping his previous grin into something a little more fitting for the situation. After all, how can you keep smiling after saying a sentence containing “getting into” and “flaming pit of despair”?
no subject
And it wasn't as if she couldn't leave Daath, she had been taught to protect herself in case that was ever the case. There just had really been nowhere to go. Plus Mt. Zaleho was said to be dangerous, which was why it was well sealed. "Meredy know there door to volcano in Daath, but it hidden. Meredy found strange door that might be passage, but it not open for Meredy."
no subject
This sort of thing required brainwork, and Philia knew that Meredy was not only intelligent, but cunning as well when the situation called for it. Colette's intelligence was average at best, and Zelos'... well, Philia preferred to not comment on that, even inside her own head.
no subject
"Let's try door Meredy found. Maybe Zelos can open it somehow and it is passage to volcano."
Meredy took Phillia's arm and started leading her in the direction in which she found the strange door.
no subject
The red-haired man along with them was a little strange, but... maybe Colette would be able to make friends with him, too.
no subject
The group of people themselves were suspicious to her already, and if she continued to pursue them, then maybe she would have something to work on. There was a person that wanted to go to Mt. Zaleho, for what reasons? the woman wondered, as the blue hues narrowed faintly. She kept her form shadowed from their eyes still, but she was clearly not letting this go.

As the quartet walked through the halls, Zelos couldn’t help but wonder. Well, it would certainly make sense. He dug around in his pocket to find the glowing red jewel he received from that ugly red floating thing. That thing did say that this little jewel would “serve as a key to enter the place.”
Wait. Glowing? When did it start glowing? It never did that before.
“Uhh, Philia…”
no subject
no subject
That was simple enough to figure out, or else there was a spot that when the jewel touched the door, it unlocked. She had tried pushing it, but there was no evidence that it budged, no handle or any evident locking device. Her guess was that it was something more based off fonic artes rather than technology.
And she had meant to bring it up to her parents for an answer, but had been afraid that they would be mad she came down here in the first place. It wasn't a place she should be, but she couldn't exactly not go after Quickie when he ran off one time, right? The little creature sure found its way into the oddest places at times.
Thinking of Quickie and the odd places it got to, Meredy noticed how close it had been keeping to her since Phillia arrived and it greeted her. The little sacred creature tended to like Phillia and Colette and it was odd for it to stay so close to her. Did Quickie not like Zelos or something? Or was there some other reason why the little creature was being protective?

He quickly read over the last paragraph in the book he was reading and replaced it back into the shelf. His client would be pleased with the information he'd gathered, but could he get out without being noticed? ... Stupid question. Of course he could. There was a reason that he was noted as Jay the Unseen, after all. But he paused and listened to some of the conversation, they were still on another aisle and couldn't see him. One of the voices could be recognized as Meredy, daughter of one of the God-Generals. A Fon Master Guardian, a priestess and...
"What's this? That sounds like..." Jay murmured to himself before peering around the corner and catching sight of Zelos. Well, that's one figure that he didn't expect to see. He also sensed one more presence in the room, but couldn't pinpoint their exact location. They were obviously hiding, and rather stealthy about it as well. Deciding it would be best to expose them now before they could cause damage later on, Jay approached the group and said rather simply, "I'm not sure what your business is here, but you're being followed."
Not caring much for the person who was following them, Jay saw this as a chance to gain information. Glancing over their group, he attempted to match names to faces, "Meredy, Philia, Colette, Zelos..." His mind immediately went to work as he tried to decipher what they could be there for. He frowned as he didn't come up with anything and said, "I don't care what you're here for, but should you really be traveling this far into the cathedral? There may be some paths you didn't expect to find."
no subject
He opened his mouth widely in preparation to speak, but he paused as he realized he had so many questions to ask. Who are you? Why are you acting like you know me? Why are you wearing make-up? Well, Zelos isn’t bright enough to ask important questions like that. He’d rather contradict.
“How do you know some one is following us? The Great Zelos would’ve realized by now if he were being followed!” Just in case, he kept his hand on the white sheath concealing his sword.

It took all her willpower not to giggle at that thought. It would be rude to laugh at someone who was doing them a favor by informing them of someone following them, but who in Daath would have the nerve to do something like that? It couldn't be Dist, she'd hear his silly chair, and he was about the only one she could think of who would try and do something while her father and Asch were gone. She doubted Colette or Phillia had anyone who would want to spy on them, so it had to be Phillia's friend Zelos. He could have enemies they weren't aware of.
"Thank you Mr. Nice man we don't know." She said to Jay since she didn't know his name, couldn't really address him correctly. "Meredy think we should figure out how to open door since no one would follow into dangerous place like Mt. Zaleho."

Her lips curved in a frown and her eyes fixed on the people. She briefly knew a few of them. The red head, she did not know at all, and it seemed Balir's daughter was among this group as well as the other Fon Master Guardian and Philia. She was displeased and it showed on her face as she approached them.
"What is your business in finding a secret passage to Mt. Zaleho?" he voice was firm and bold, obviously, she was not playing around at them. Her brief shots were mere warnings. If they acted out of line, she would not hesitate to harm them. There are things in the Cathedral that are best left unknown, especially if they were trying to find a way to Mt. Zaleho, "There is nothing in Mt. Zaleho that would prove useful to you. It is best if you all leave," she suggest in a cold tone. If they tried anything, there wouldn't be a good outcome to this.
ooc: hopefully Legretta showing herself now is alright.

"Lady Legretta." She bowed, "I must beg to differ. Sir Wilder and I were sent on an imperative mission awaken the Aurora Arte within him by Grand Maestro Mohs; I assure you that my research is dependable, and that if you check with those who I work with, you will find that my reputation is not one to make something up such as this. We must make haste, unless you wish for me to report to the Grand Maestro about your hindrance on our assignment?"
no subject
There was little Meredy could truly do at this point, Quickie would act protectively on instinct as much as follow commands. She wasn't going to outright use a fonic arte on the God-General, she knew her father would not be pleased at her attacking one of his comrades, Quickie protecting her at least could be explained away, since that type of sacred beast was especially valued for how protective they were of those they chose to protect. The little creature would only stop when Legretta was no longer a threat to Meredy.
At least Phillia had the situation handled, hopefully. If this escalated further, it could cause a lot of problems since she knew very well Asch and Balir would not take kindly to Legretta causing even the slightest hint of danger to Meredy. She kept silent for now, there wasn't really any use in mentioning that to the irate God-General, if Phillia's words did not do anything, then they would have to deal with it in another way.

Zelos stepped in front of his darling priestess and pointed his sword at the gunslinger, smirking a very arrogant “you just got told” type of smirk. He then proceeded to rub Philia’s comment in her face.
“Well, you heard the lady. Back off…” he paused and thought about what else to say, and his smirk grew even wider once he thought of something, “…unless you want to be our escort.” Sapphire eyes shone with anticipation as he sheathed his sword and waited for an answer.
sorry for the sporadic attendance--I've been sick ;_;

Again, she had never heard that order before form Mohs. What was the Grand Maestro thinking, really? Legretta was displeased by Philia's words, but that didn't make her completely back down. The creature that ran towards her trying to bite her was swiftly knocked aside by her arm. She had no time to get bit. Her injuries were steal healing. The less damage on her, the better. The arrogant red head, however, made Legretta's blue hues narrowed even more.
"I have not heard of such things from the Grand Maestro. If I learn that this is a mere trick, then there would be more at stake than your lives," she replied in a calm, even tone, though her narrowed hues and her guns were aimed perfectly at them still. The hostility was still there. She was unaware of most their battle styles, and it was best not to jump into conclusions. She didn't aim to hurt them completely, only a slight warning as well as if she found out that there were lies in these woven words of the green haired girl, Legretta certainly would not let it go.
She had little trust in almost everyone there, and it was hard to believe their words. They were after all strangers. She may knew them briefly, but she didn't know them enough to confirm anything at all. The lingering question was... should she let them go? The arrogance was enough for her to distrust them even more.
ooc: it's fine. life happens, after all.
Coming to Zelos' side, Philia gave him a serious look. "Sir Wilder, leave this to me." Typically Philia was polite as all-get-out, but Zelos' life was far more important than her own in this case; even should Philia be detained, Colette and Meredy would be able to help him awaken the Aurora Arte; his current attitude would only get him in trouble. Putting her hand on his chest, she forcefully, as much as she could, pushed him back.
She turned to Legretta. "If you do indeed find that this is a trick, then you may feel free to hunt us down." Philia stated. "However, I will not accept the fact that your hostile behavior is hindering our progress." Philia hoped that her wording would make Legretta realize... or think... that she had far more to lose by hindering them than they did.

He made a mental note of their goal, which he assumed was getting into Mt. Zaleho and some bit about Aurora Artes. Nothing that he was particularly interested in to meet his own ends. Once Legretta herself made an appearance, he internally cursed his decision to get on the bad side of a God-General. His instinct to mock people and prove them wrong often worked before the thought to decipher their identity before.
Stepping more to the side, making it clear that he wasn't with their group, he thought of a quick chance for escape, "I'm not with them, obviously. I regret stepping into your plans, Legretta. But I doubt that the priestess is lying. That would be against the teachings of Yulia, wouldn't it? Just an observation, seeing as I really don't care what happens to them."
no subject
“Alright! That’s it!” Zelos yelled loudly, his statement and its lasting echo effectively shutting everyone up. They all turned to look at him. “I’m going, this is ridiculous!” He gracefully spun on his heels and strode off further into the library. Before he got too far though, he stopped, back still facing everyone and waved. “And sorry babe, you can’t stop me!”
Satisfied with his bold statement, he continued walking further away from the group.
no subject
It wasn't like it was normal to send people into Mt. Zaleho. There were things that would rather not be revealed to people, especially this group of people that tried to convict her with their words, hoping they would make her step back. She wouldn't back up so easily. He eyes were still faintly narrowed at Philia's words. She didn't say anything, but she would surely say something if anything were to happen soon. What would Van tell her on behalf of Mohs if this girl did tattle?
It seemed childish to her, reporting simple things as an obstacle in their way. They were still young, so they didn't understand the things she did, but obviously, the Majour didn't look like she cared at all. The teachings of Yulia? Even more gibberish that she didn't seem to care about. The Score, Yulia Jue, all these things sickened her. She hated the Score, and there was no way she would back down because it was against the teachings of Yulia. She parted her lips in reply to the two in a monotone manner, her usual tone, her empty tone.
"What makes you think bringing up Yulia would stop me?" She disregarded the part about Mohs on purpose, because she didn't want to start anything up than she already did. When the other male shouted and started towards the library once more, she fired again to stop him, this time her aim was near perfect. If the red head valued his life, he would stop and wait until this was done, not leaving without giving a damn. Legretta would surely make him eat his words if not for the people here.
no subject
"Um, um, I'm sorry, but..." She turned around, flailing her arms a little. "Ze, Zelos, shouldn't you wait until God-General Legretta knows we're not here to do anything bad?"
no subject
Ignoring the God General’s question, he turned to the group. In place of his usual cocky grin, a serious, almost angry look had found its way there instead. His usual bright sapphire eyes lost their shine as he took a few steps forward. Upon hearing Colette’s plea to stay, he quickly complied with the demand. He didn’t want to leave his hunnies to pick up the pieces left behind in his reckless choices, did he?
He decided that before he made any more reckless choices, which he was going to do right now, he should be the one up front, ready to pick the pieces up himself. Zelos withdrew his sword, and once again pointed it at the blonde. “First off, fire anymore bullets at me,” he replied to her attack with added venom in his voice, “and we’ll see what happens.” The cocky grin finally finding its way back onto his face, this time he continued with added sarcasm, “Now, would you prefer we go find our dear Maestro and get a permission slip or something?”
no subject
… Joy. Of course, there was no guarantee that they would ever make it to the volcano if he kept mouthing off to the God-General standing right in front of them. Choosing to make an attempt to get Zelos to shut up then, Jay offered a bit of advice, "She wouldn't even have to waste her bullets on you if you had enough of an attention span to listen up to this conversation. Philia has my pity for putting up for you so long if she has to do all the talking too." Obviously, he was very direct with his opinion. But how could he possibly get through Zelos's thick head if he was any other way? But the way he saw this, even if Zelos shut up, there was no guarantee that this little encounter wouldn't take forever. Jay needed to get out of this library, he'd had his information. Although it wasn't like it would be a good idea to leave this group behind with an irritable Legretta, at least not for too long. There could be an accident of sorts, probably a casualty on the side opposing the God-General.
So he felt like offering an alternative, and being the generous soul he was, he would offer his own free time to help get them out of this mess, "How about this: I'm a neutral party. I can get information quickly. I'll leave the room and speak with Grand Maestro Mohs. Legretta stays here and makes sure you lot don't run off, and we clarify whether Philia's telling the truth. I don't want to waste my time helping you all, but it wouldn't be good if a fight broke out here."

"Indeed. If you bring back lies, there will be no mercy," she replied to the man that offered to get the information from Grand Maestro Mohs. Even so, Legretta still needed to figure out what The Grand Maestro Mohs wanted to do in Mt. Zaleho. The Commandant would like to know as well, what Mohs' plans were, or what he was up to. Legretta wasn't exactly very respectful of Mohs, but she had listened to him many times. Their views were different. Mohs' goal in life is to ensure the world would follow the Score according to what is written in there.
Legretta, however had no intentions of following that Score, and would rather have it overturned. She had given her okay to the male to go on, and surely, she'd keep an eye on this lot of people. Again, she had no idea why they needed such a big group to scan Mt. Zaleho. She remained silent for now, without words coming form her lips. Her Fonic Guns were set aside, so that they rested limply in her hands, but prepared to use them if anyone tried anything suspicious.
