[Chapter 1 - SCENE] No Asch, you can not wait for Luke and torture him

Who: Asch and Van
Where: Kaitzur
When: About the same time as the Tartarus scene
Warnings: Asch is an insufferable brat?

Asch's mood had not improved since he'd confronted Sync. He truely wished he could do something about the boy following him, but, like had been pointed out, Van would kill both of them if they decided to duke it out. So Asch had to put up with a trail, and his mood had soured. And it would get worse, if Sync found out who the gift was for. Nevertheless, Asch had made it to Kaitzur, and would inquire about the Fon Master, once he found a suitable candidate for actually knowing something.

If his assumption was, then his sister and the replica should pass through Kaitzur with Guy sometime within the next few days. Fortunately, he had anticipated that Luke was no longer within Kimlasca's borders and was able to get several passports from the Duke; just in case.

However, one thing he didn't anticipate, was finding Asch.

Van scowled, walking toward the God General. "Asch, why are you here?"

Asch frowned when he heard the Commandant's voice. "Looking for clues as to the Fon Master's whereabouts, like I was ordered," Asch replied, turning to meet his master's eyes.

"Did that search lead you here?" He frowned slightly, taking a quick glance around to make sure it was only them. "Or did you merely come here by chance?"

"There were no clues in Akzeriuth, and I'd rather come here than to the Naval Port, where people loyal to... to Duke Fabre may be present. I'm assuming you still don't want anyone who may recognize me to see me?"

It almost seemed as though Asch was intentionally ruining everything. If anything had happened at Akzeriuth while he was there...All of his efforts would have been for nothing.

"Of course, that would cause some unnecessary problems if you were to be seen." Van continues, not allowing his irritation to show. "However, it would be best if you left this area, for the time being."

Asch scowled. "I was ordered by Mohs to search this area for the Fon Master," Asch pointed out. "I would have to have a pretty good reason for abandoning my mission."

"You do. A party of the Duke's men will be arriving to search for, Luke fon Fabre." Van pauses a moment, considering the wisdom of letting Asch know. However, the boy has yet to give him any true reason to doubt him.

Van can trust him, for now. "It would be best if you left the area, before you're found."

Asch stiffened. The replica was here? In this area? Just the thing to make Asch's day even worse. "Are you certain he's in this area?" Asch asked.

Van frowned. Perhaps telling Asch was a mistake after all. "It's a possibility. However, the Duke's men will be arriving in this area, and we can't afford to have you seen by them. You understand that, don't you?"

"Yes," Asch replied flatly. What else had been the point of keeping him in near seclusion for the past seven years. "Where do you want me to go from here?"

"It doesn't matter," Van said, voice curt. "Simply continue searching for Ion away from the area. I'll contact you again if matters change."

Asch nodded, and started to turn away, before he paused and turned back to Van. "What about Sync? Is he still to follow me?"

Van stops, frowning deeply. It seems that a conversation with Sync will be needed after this.

"Not so long as you obey orders. That should be easy enough for you I'd imagine."

Asch didn't let Van catch his scowl. "Fine," he said, and strode out of the border city.

Van watched him go, frowning deeply. It seems that he'll have to let Asch go for the time, he can't afford to make him suspicious now.

Hopefully, he isn't suspicious already.
